Vendor Spotlight: Natural Beauties Floral

Vendor Spotlight: Natural Beauties Floral

The real natural beauties, Jan and Jillian, owners of Natural Beauties Floral, Inc, took time out of their very busy day to share some fun facts about their business and shed some light on what gives them inspiration. We’ve always loved their work and were thrilled to have the chance to talk with them!

Jewell Events Catering: How long have you been in business?
Natural Beauties Floral: We have been in business for 8 years.

JEC: What is the one thing that sets your company apart from others?
NBF: We are identical twins who have been designing since the age of 8. We were trained by our grandmother, a Master gardener and designer. Being a boutique business, we keep our company focused on quality over quantity. We guarantee our clients will always receive exceptional floral design along with elite customer service.

JEC: Where does your inspiration come from?
NBF: We are inspired by fashion, as it is an ever-changing industry in the world of color and texture. Each season brings new color palettes and textiles in which we derive our floral creations from. By keeping up to date, one can check out our blog for monthly posts on out fashion and floral inspirations.

JEC: Are you seeing any emerging trends for events next year?
NBF: For 2015, we are seeing a trend for romantic floral style weddings. An abundance of soft muted tones in blush and lavender accented by metallics are sure to be seen.

JEC: What is the craziest or most fun event you’ve ever done? (No names, just some details!)
NBF: The craziest job we have ever had was hanging a strung orchid chuppah. We had to use a lift to reach 20ft in the air, by attaching 80 strands of orchids one by one to the chandelier in the center of the Ritz Carlton ballroom! Let’s just say there was no time to be scared of heights that day.

JEC: What is one thing you wish everyone knew about your business?
NBF: We are perfectionists when it comes to our work. We take pride in making sure our client’s vision is achieved at the height of our exceptional standards. There is a tremendous feeling of gratitude when our client’s happiness is felt as they walk into the reception for a first time. It’s a priceless moment we will never grow tired of.

JEC: What is the best piece of advice you can give someone planning an event?
NBF: Planning an event can sometimes feel like a second job. The endless amount of details that go into planning a wedding/event can often be overwhelming. We recommend making a list and giving one’s self deadlines of when each aspect of the wedding/event needs to be booked by. Keeping everything organized will keep the process of planning an event stress free.

JEC: What is your favorite Chicago restaurant?
NBF: Our favorite Chicago restaurant is Gilt Bar.

JEC: If you could be any food, what would you be and why?
NBF: Coffee and chocolates! We can’t live without the two.

JEC: What is your favorite part about being in the floral industry?
NBF: Our favorite part of working in the wedding/floral industry is being a part of our couple’s love stories. One’s wedding day will always be close to their heart and we are delighted to be part of making their day special for them.
