Chef Secrets: Meat Basics

Working for Jewell Events Catering means that there are chefs always walking in and out of our offices. To help share some of their knowledge, we’re introducing a new feature on the website called Chef’s Secrets. We’ll be asking the chef’s to share their favorite cooking secrets each month, so stay tuned!


Our first secret to be shared comes from Francisco, our head butcher. The secret to perfectly cooked meat every time? Leave it at room temperature for one to two hours before cooking it. This helps the meat cook more evenly. Don’t forget to let the meat rest after you’ve cooked it to help the juices distribute also.
