28 Oct Jewell Cares: Stress-Free Holidays
During all the hustle and bustle of the holidays, it’s easy to forget that we’re supposed to be celebrating with family and friends; creating long lasting memories that we’ll cherish for years to come. Stories that will be retold over the Thanksgiving table time and time again, until they’re legendary.
So in between running to the store (again) to get butter, or heading out to the mall to stock up on Black Friday, it’s no surprise that the holidays can be the most stressful time of year. This year, here are some tips to relax, enjoy, and make memories this holiday season.
- Don’t do it all yourself! Call in the pros. Whether it’s hiring a cleaning service to come out and clean the house the day before (or after!) a party or gathering, having a catering company (ahem…we know a great one!) to provide part or all of the meal, or springing for a limo service or Uber car to pick up loved ones from the airport, you’ll be freeing up precious time that you can spend unwinding or preparing for festivities.
- Start a new tradition. Maybe don’t do this every year, but try it until you find one that works for your family. It might mean everyone layering on jackets and going for a walk or taking time to volunteer together at a local food pantry. Whatever it is, there is something out there that will be the perfect fit!
- Cut loose and have some fun! Break out board games and get everyone in the family involved. There is bound to be laughter when everyone is playing Pictionary or Charades!
- Stay active! The more you work out, the more stress you release. If you’re feeling that all-too-familiar tension and frenzy starting to creep in, take 60 minutes for yourself and hit up a yoga class or introduce yourself to a local treadmill.
